Forgive me I’m a little behind on posts. I’ve been driving home these past few days and was unable to blog due to exhaustion! Ha! But before I wrap up this trip here on the blog I want to write about my last couple of days in Washington!
Since our campsite is only two hours away from Seattle, Kayleigh and I decided to make our way there for a day trip. Not to mention the drive to Seattle is through the Snoqualmie Pass which has got to be one of the most beautiful parts of the country.
Our first order of business was brunch. We found a delicious little spot! We enjoyed our food and got to do some people watching. We then made our way to the troll! I wanted to be a total tourist and stop at this landmark! On our walk there we walked by the Google buildings, walked over a drawbridge, and got to seem some of the houseboats! The troll was cool but there were a ton of people there!
Kayleigh and I had our day so well planned out. We dressed appropriately for cloudy and rainy Seattle weather! We were so excited to escape the heat and we couldn’t wait to walk all around town! So after the troll we decided to walk to Discovery Park! A quick 3 miles! Wellllllllllllll, our vision for Seattle wasn’t quite realized. The clouds cleared, the sun was out and with it came the heat! Our breezy walk turned into a torturous trek through the Seattle hills. It was so pretty but we ended up turning around halfway through to head back to the car to drive around town instead of walking. We were boiling and Sophie had to stop every 15 minutes for a shade and water break!
1.5 hours later we got back to the car (and AC) and we headed to Discovery Park. En route Kayleigh mentioned a weird clicking noise coming from my front passenger side wheel. We pulled over, called Taylor, looked at the wheel and we couldn’t see anything wrong. Luckily, we were in a big city so we headed to the local dealership! After a very slow drive through traffic we made it to the nicest Lexus dealership ever! They got us in right away and the whole building was dog friendly! Water bowls and treats were at the ready! It was wonderful! Shout out to AJ and Lexus of Bellevue for making us feel so welcome!

The brake pads were installed backwards. Hmmmm… You might be asking yourself, “Where did Sara go to get them installed?” Well, Sara didn’t go anywhere to get them installed. Her dear husband, who worked so hard to help her get all ready for my trip, installed them. 😂😂
Kayleigh said I lit up like a kid at Christmas when I found out Taylor was the one who was to blame! For those of you who don’t know Taylor, he can be described as overly confident, especially in regards to car care and repair. Because of this it is so fun to tell him he is wrong or to let him know he made a mistake! Hands down the favorite part of my day was calling Taylor to let him know!
It was all in good fun, I wasn’t upset at all, it was a quick fix, no one got hurt, and we were in a town where we were able to get it fixed! The whole situation ended up being quite humorous!
We left the dealership and headed to downtown Seattle for dinner! We had another delicious meal. People watched. Walked to Pikes Place Market. Went down to the water for a bit. Then swung up to gum alley!
“You only live once, you mine as well find amusement in it.”
Love you Taylor! Thank you for being the most supportive and loving husband who takes the best care of us and loves us unconditionally. 😘
